Michael is a co-founder and CEO of Beeodiversity which advises and develops projects for companies and public entities in order to preserve the biodiversity while involving all stakeholders.
After studying law (with a master in finance and management), he started his career as a M&A lawyer in an international law firm before joining a prime real estate company as director.
At the age of 33 he took a year off to backpack in South America and redefine his professional goals. He realized how badly the environment was changing in certain countries and impacting local communities. The outcome was clear: he wanted to become an entrepreneur to trigger a positive change. At first, he co-launched 3 companies that aim at improving the performance and well-being of SMEs.
In 2012, he met Bach Kim Nguyen, a worldwide expert regarding the bee decline issue. Kim wanted to act for the preservation of the environment but he needed an associate with an entrepreneurial background. The perfect match!
Since its launch Beeodiversity had a positive impact on more than 75.000ha of land and collaborated with thousands of stakeholders (farmers, beekeepers, citizens, cities, companies, EU parliament, scientists…). Kim became an Ashoka Fellow and Beeodiversity won various awards both in social entrepreneurship and environmental innovation. Michael is a member of several juries relating to social entrepreneurship awards and enjoys giving aspirational talks as he is convinced that the global change needed will come from entrepreneurs and younger generations.
